PBBM to global leaders: Performance is best way to earn trust of people

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday stressed that performance is the “best way to earn the trust” of the people.

“I always say the best politics is performance because it’s something that cannot be taken away from you and it is something that actually makes a difference in people’s lives,” the President said during a question-and-answer portion at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Perform and you will get back the trust of the people and that is what we all politicians [do] and I’m sure even people from the business side… that is what we strive for,” said Marcos, who was well applauded for his answer.

The President is in Thailand to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM).

On the second day of his visit to Thailand, the President attended the APEC CEO Summit where he called on the member economies to adhere to its vision and quickly implement it to address present challenges, as he highlighted the regional bloc’s role as a driver of the global economy.

APEC is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific.

APEC’s 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative, and secure growth, and by accelerating regional economic integration. #
