Although the visit to Saudi Arabia was brief, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that it was a successful and productive one with various engagements accomplished to reaffirm the Philippines’ commitment to the partnership between the GCC and ASEAN countries, as well as to promote the country to prospect investors.


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the Filipino community of the continued bilateral partnership between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a legacy that his father and namesake, former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., has started in the 1980s.


The Philippines and Saudi Arabia agreed on Friday to enhance trade and investments, labor cooperation and tie-ups on renewable energy, following the bilateral meeting of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman.


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to work together in promoting peace, security and stability in the South China Sea and the Arabian Sea.


The Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, requested a short bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the sidelines of the 1st Asean-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to discuss labor relations between the two countries.


The Philippine business delegation signed an investment agreement worth more than $4.26 billion with Saudi business leaders on Thursday at the sidelines of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s attendance at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Gulf Cooperation Council (ASEAN-GCC) Summit in Saudi Arabia.


President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday to attend the ASEAN - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit where major geopolitical developments, security, economic progress, and socio-cultural collaboration are high on the agenda.


The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), represented by Undersecretary Gerald Baria, convened a meeting with Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy, Ms. Sara Al-Sayed, in Riyadh, to discuss significant topics of mutual interest between the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. This dialogue included participation from Assistant Secretary Dale De Vera and Director Faith De Guia. The PCO maintains a steadfast commitment to bolstering diplomatic ties and fostering collaboration with counterparts and organizations, aligning with our vision of promoting global cooperation and ensuring that the public remains well-informed and engaged.
