PBBM, First lady join global leaders in APEC gala


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos joined economic leaders at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)-Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM) gala dinner in Bangkok, Thailand.

The dinner was hosted by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of the Kingdom of Thailand.

At the gala, economic leaders from the Asia-Pacific region were treated with the best of Thai culture and cuisine.

On the second day of his visit to Thailand, the President called on APEC member economies to adhere to its vision and quickly implement it to address present challenges as he highlighted the regional bloc’s role as a driver of the global economy.

During the APEC CEO Summit, Marcos urged his fellow APEC leaders to continue allowing and encouraging innovations and structural changes.

He also stressed that performance is the “best way to earn the trust” of the people.

Marcos and Chinese President Xi Jinping also met in a historic bilateral meeting in Bangkok.

The two leaders discussed strengthening and expanding the Philippines-China relationship, particularly in agriculture, energy, infrastructure and people-to-people connections.

The chief executive is on a four-day visit to Thailand for his inaugural participation in the 29th AELM. #
