
More than 420,000 families have been enabled after graduating from the government’s anti-poverty initiative, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. said on Monday.
In his third State of the Nation Address, the President said the program has consistently accomplished its annual target, proving its efficacy to break the cycle of poverty among beneficiaries.
“Mula noong nakaraang SONA, mahigit apat na raan at dalawampung libong pamilya na ang naka-graduate sa programa. Ibig sabihin, sa tulong ng 4Ps, mas gumanda na ang kanilang kalagayan at kakayahang makipagsapalaran sa laban ng buhay,” Marcos said.
According to the President, the families that graduated from the program in the last two years, 35 students became topnotchers in various licensure exams.
“Ilan sa kanila ay si Teacher Khane Jevie Cervantes ng Davao Oriental, na nakuha ng number one sa Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. Isa rin si Engr. Alexis Alegado na nanguna sa Civil Engineering Board Exams noong Abril ng nakalipas na taon,” Marcos said. PND
