PBBM fosters PWD-friendly Philippines

The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is pushing for a “Bagong Pilipinas” that promotes the lives and welfare of persons with special needs.

“Our PWDs (persons with disability) can rest assured of government’s effective implementation of beneficial policies and programs that will guarantee equitable opportunities, special interventions, and incentives for them,” President Marcos said.

The President made the remarks during his 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

President Marcos said his administration has already initiated several livelihood programs intended to ensure the welfare of PWDs since he assumed office.

The President also disclosed that the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will launch next year the benefits for PWD children and senior citizens for their basic needs and prime commodities.

“Sa lahat ng mga ginagawa nating ito, katuwang natin palagi ang pribadong sektor, lalo na sa mahahalagang bagay ng trabaho at pasahod,” President Marcos said.

The President’s remarks elicited deafening applause and cheers during his 3rd SONA. PND
