PPP significant approach to PH infra development – PBBM

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vouched for the ability of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to facilitate strategic investments and timely development of projects under the “Build Better More” program of the administration.

In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, President Marcos said the PPP will be a significant approach to infrastructure development, especially since one-fourth of the administration’s project have been envisioned to be funded through it.

The President extended his gratitude to Congress for institutionalizing the PPP.

One of the projects under the modality is the NAIA-PPP, which “will go down in our history not only as among the largest and fastest approved PPP, but one that has set the bar in terms of openness, transparency, and competitiveness of the process,” the President said.

“Through this partnership, our foremost aerial gateway is now primed for a revitalization. Once considered as among the worst and most stressful airports in the world, it will soon be a world-class international airport that we can all be proud of,” he said.

Another example of a successful PPP modality is the UP-PGH Cancer Center, which is the first PPP under the Marcos administration. PND
