Indian Ambassador Mazumdar pays farewell call on President Duterte



Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Jaideep Mazumdar paid a farewell call on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte Friday via telephone with the Filipino leader thanking him for forging stronger Philippine-India ties.

During the call, the President congratulated Ambassador Mazumdar for a successful tour of duty in the Philippines and commended him for his exemplary service, especially his contributions to significantly enhance political dialogue at the highest levels.

He also thanked the Indian ambassador for providing assistance to Filipino pediatric liver transplant patients seeking affordable transplant procedure in India.

Ambassador Mazumdar, for his part, expressed sincere gratitude to the President and to the Philippine government for supporting him during his tenure in the Philippines.

Bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and India deepened during Ambassador Mazumdar’s three-year tenure in the country.

President Duterte met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Manila in 2017 during the Philippines’ Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Chairmanship.

In 2018, the President undertook an official visit to India. Last year, he received Indian President Ram Nath Kovind who arrived in the Philippines for a state visit. PND
