PBBM to confer 3 sets of awards to outstanding civil servants

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is set to present three sets of awards to exceptional civil servants on Sept. 18 at Malacañan Palace.

In an episode of Malacañang Insider on Wednesday, Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles elaborated on the awards to be given as part of the 124th-anniversary celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Commission.

“The President will be awarding the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award. That’s the highest award any civil servant can hope to get. It will be the President himself who will be giving out this award,” he said.

Nograles said the award recognizes civil servants with remarkable performance that goes across various departments on a national level.

The second award to be presented by the President is the CSC Pagasa Award.

“The CSC Pagasa Award naman is given to civil servants who has done an outstanding performance or initiative that cuts across several offices within his or her department, or even can affect another department as well or another agency as well,” Nograles said.

President Marcos will also be presenting the Dangal ng Bayan Award, which will be given to government employees who demonstrate the ethical standards of a “true civil servant.”

“There are ethical norms. This is based on law and then, those who exemplify these ethical norms and standards because of the work that they do and they are able to prove that. That is what they get. They are given the Dangal ng Bayan award,” Nograles said.

He said the awardees are good role models and inspirations for government workers. “This is the reason why we give these awards—it’s really to tell the public that there are good people in government and there are people who really work hard in government.” PND
