Bagong Pilipinas—the administration’s vision of reform, unity, and a progressive nation built on good governance and inclusive development—is a promise the government strives to fulfill every day, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Friday.
As part of this vision, President Marcos emphasized that educational reforms serve as the foundation of Bagong Pilipinas, aiming to provide Filipinos with broader access to education and greater employment opportunities.
“Binibigyang-pansin natin ang isa pang haligi ng Bagong Pilipinas—ay napakahalaga po nito. Kaya’t inaayos po natin ang edukasyon,” the President told the crowd of supporters at the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas miting de avance in Nueve de Pebrero, Mandaluyong on Friday evening.
The President said educational reforms under his administration include fine-tuning the K–12 curriculum, rolling out the revised K–10 curriculum in school year 2023–2024, and ongoing efforts to improve Senior High School education.
Around 15,000 more classrooms are planned to be built in partnership with the private sector, equipped with electricity, internet, and learning tools to support quality education.
Under the Marcos administration, 16,655 new classrooms have been constructed since July 2022.
While the education reforms centered on the learners’ development, President Marcos pointed out the importance of supporting teachers, particularly in benefits, career path development, and a 30-day uninterrupted summer break.
“Binibigyan sila ng mas maayos na benepisyo, mas malinaw na career path, at mas mahabang pahinga,” President Marcos said. | PND
