President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday praised country’s hardworking agricultural workers as he led the distribution of PhP83.4 million worth of farm equipment and supplies to beneficiaries in Pangasinan.
President Marcos recognized their vital role in ensuring every Filipino family has food on the table and encouraged them to continue contributing to the country’s agricultural growth and food security.
“Ating patunayan na taglay natin ang diwa ng Bagong Pilipino — na may disiplina, may husay, at may pagmamahal sa bayan,” the President said.
During the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lower Agno River Irrigation System project in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan, President Marcos oversaw assistance distribution to 7,645 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and 292 ARB organizations (ARBOs) in Pangasinan to boost agricultural production.
“Kapit-bisig nating palakasin ang sector ng agrikultura at tiyakin na may pagkain sa hapag ng bawat Pilipino,” President Marcos said.
“Ating patunayan na taglay natin ang diwa ng Bagong Pilipino — na may disiplina, may husay, at may pagmamahal sa bayan,” the President added.
The Chief Executive said the Department of Agriculture (DA) will distribute hybrid rice seeds, garden tools, and other farm inputs.
Meanwhile, under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) Project of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), packets of organic plant supplements have been distributed to 5,600 ARBs and ARBOs in Pangasinan.
DAR has distributed 10 four-wheel drive tractors with implements and two multi-role power stations for the ARBOs.
President Marcos led a ceremonial turnover of certificates for solar-powered irrigation pumps and oversaw the DAR distribution of 10 four-wheel drive tractors with implements and two multi-role power stations to ARBOs.
“Kayang magpatubig kahit walang kuryente — mas tipid sa gastos, hindi makakasira sa kalikasan. Patunay ito na kung sama-sama tayong kikilos, kayang-kaya nating isulong ang makabagong teknolohiya na mapapakinabangan ng ating mga magsasaka,” said President Marcos.
“Kaya naman para po sa ating mga magsasaka, makakaasa kayo na narito ang inyong gobyerno na handang umagapay sa inyo. Hiling ko lang po, patuloy tayong magtulungan,” he added. | PND
