The Philippine government’s efforts to modernize public services have earned international praise, with two digital platforms—eGovPH Super App and eGovDX—winning top honors at the 2025 GovMedia Awards in Singapore.
The awards highlight the country’s progress in fulfilling President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to bring government closer to the people through secure, user-friendly digital tools.
The President has framed digitalization not only as a tool for convenience, but also as a critical weapon against inefficiency, corruption, and red tape— hallmarks of public frustration. Faster digital services, he noted, also unlock faster planning, more reliable data, and better government coordination.
The eGovPH Super App consolidates services like ID access, travel, health, and public safety into one platform, with more than 130 million transactions and over 12 million users. The E-Government Data Exchange Platform or eGovDX processed more than 500 million transactions and integrates over 1,000 government services.
DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. emphasized that the goal is not just efficiency—but visibility.
‘People need to feel that government is working for them,’ he said. ‘That means faster service, zero lines, and more transparency.’
He added, “The recognition abroad is a reminder that we’re heading in the right direction. But the real reward is when citizens stop lining up at 4 a.m., when the services they need come straight to their phones, and when they feel—truly feel—that their government is working for them.”
At the core of this transformation is the national ID system, now covering 87% of Filipinos, which helps ensure security and identity verification across all services.
As both platforms gain traction, the DICT is calling on all agencies to integrate their services into the ecosystem. “The job isn’t done,” Almirol said. “This is about building a government that works better—for every Filipino, every day.” PND
