Palace: Strong job gains reflect PH economic momentum

Malacañang on Wednesday welcomed the encouraging results of the latest Labor Force Survey (LFS), which showed that more than 1.42 million jobs were created nationwide, alongside a remarkable increase in labor force participation.

In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Marcos administration remains committed to inclusive economic growth by ensuring more Filipinos gain stable and decent employment.

“Mas maraming trabaho ang nakalaan sa ating mga kababayan. Ayon sa Pangulo, hindi dito natatapos ang obligasyon ng pamahalaan. Ang direktiba niya ay gawing mas aktibo pa ang paglikha ng trabaho sa bansa,” Castro said.

The government continues to create jobs through programs like DOLE’s Life Assistance Program for workers affected by labor issues and the National Reintegration Network, which helps returning overseas Filipino workers find local employment.

The Philippines is also participating in the ASEAN-led Digital and Green Skills for Youth initiative, which aims to equip young Filipinos with the competencies necessary for sustainable and future-ready industries, such as green construction.

DOLE, in coordination with 38 other government agencies, has issued a joint memorandum circular to accelerate job-generating investments.

Meanwhile, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) are expanding training programs in integrated circuit design, assembly, testing, and packaging to meet growing demand in the semiconductor and electronics sectors.

“Ang mensahe ng Pangulo ay malinaw—lahat ng Pilipino ay dapat may pagkakataong umasenso. At ang susi sa pag-asenso ay disenteng trabaho,” Castro said. | PND
