Malacañang announced on Friday that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will visit the United States from July 20 to 22.
The Palace confirmed President Marcos’ upcoming visit, as earlier announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the ASEAN Regional Forum and the U.S.-Philippines-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meetings held Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“Hindi ko po dini-deny, kinu-confirm po ang pagbisita po ng ating Pangulo sa US, July 20 to 22. Confirmed,” Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a Palace press briefing.
Castro said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will announce the details of the visit.
The President has made three trips to the US so far, which have yielded tangible benefits for the country, including strengthened economic partnerships, increased foreign investment pledges, expanded development cooperation in infrastructure and energy, and renewed engagement with the global Filipino community.
President Marcos visited Washington, D.C. in April 2024 to attend the first US-Philippines-Japan Trilateral Summit. The summit led to the launch of the Luzon Economic Corridor, a flagship program aimed at developing key industrial and trade zones in Luzon.
In November 2023, President Marcos attended the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related activities in San Francisco, California.
After the summit, the President had working visits to Los Angeles, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii, where he met business leaders and the Filipino community.
In September 2022, President Marcos went on a six-day working visit to New York City for the United Nations General Assembly, his first official visit as head of state. | PND
