PBBM urges fast, transparent completion of Caticlan Airport Terminal

Recognizing the urgency of delivering tangible results to the Filipino people, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on Monday for the construction timeline of the new passenger terminal building at Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan, Aklan, to be shortened from 24 months to 18 months.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of Caticlan Airport, President Marcos emphasized the importance of speed, transparency, and accountability in completing the construction of the facility.

The President said the timeline for the terminal’s construction has already been placed on his calendar, reinforcing his personal commitment to monitor its progress.

“It is already in my schedule – 24 months, I am coming to cut the ribbon,” President Marcos said, drawing applause from the audience.

“Kung puwede mong gawing 18, I won’t complain,” the President quickly added, which elicited further applause from the crowds.

The President encouraged the developer, Megawide, to go above and beyond expectations.

The project will be carried out by Megawide Construction Corp., a firm renowned for its expertise in airport development and public infrastructure.

Praising the private partner’s track record and responsiveness, the Chief Executive further challenged Megawide.

“O, kita mo, masarap kausap ‘tong Megawide. Very ano eh, hindi sila umaatras sa challenge,” the President said.

The Caticlan project is aligned with the Marcos administration’s Build Better More program and aims to demonstrate how infrastructure can be delivered with speed, quality, and integrity. | PND
