Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial graced the inauguration of the first-ever computerized tomography (CT) scan machine provided by the DOH for the Maguindanao provincial hospital in Shariff Aguak on Dec. 17, 2016.
“It’s brand new! It’s the first (CT scan machine) in Maguindanao and ARMM (Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao),” Secretary Ubial proclaimed.
Aside from Maguindanao, the CT scan facility can also accommodate patients from nearby provinces like South Cotabato, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani.
“The CT scanner is needed here in the province. Patients in Maguindanao who usually go to Cotabato and GenSan (General Santos City) will no longer need to travel too far for CT scan check-up,” Ubial said.
According to the DOH chief, this initiative is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s health agenda of strengthening operational capabilities of government hospitals and health facilities.###MARO-CONTENT
