The Palace announces the re-appointment of Mr. Jose Manuel Romualdez as Special Envoy of the President to the United States.

We are confident that the re-appointment of Mr. Romualdez will usher in better PH-US relations and promote stronger cooperation between the two countries.
From Presidential Spokesperson Ernie Abella – On Speaker Alvarez’ remarks to extend martial law in Mindanao until 2022
Speaker Alvarez has clarified that his remarks to extend martial law until 2022 is his personal opinion.

Extending martial law is the decision of the President which PRRD said would rest on the assessment and the recommendation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other stakeholders of the Marawi situation.

The Palace, through the Office of the Executive Secretary, has directed government agencies to support the country’s hosting of the 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Memorandum Circular No. 20 likewise encouraged all local government units (LGUs) to do the same.

The hosting of said sporting event in the Philippines from August 9 to 17 at Binan, Laguna will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill, and economic benefits to the country.
