President Benigno S. Aquino III has declared March 22 a special non-working day in the province of Cavite in celebration of the birth anniversary of General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Republic of the Philippines.“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Cavite be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” stated Proclamation No. 1231, which was signed last February 29.
President Aquino has also issued several proclamations declaring special holidays in various provinces this month.
Proclamation No. 1224 declared March 8 a special non-working day in Compostela Valley in celebration of the province’s 18th founding anniversary and the 9th Bulawan Festival.
March 17, the founding anniversary of the municipality of Tayug in Pangasinan province, was declared a special non-working day by virtue of Proclamation No. 1225.
The people of Calapan in Oriental Mindoro province will have the opportunity to celebrate the city’s Foundation Day on March 21, which was declared a special non-working day through Proclamation No. 1226.
Proclamation No. 1227 declared March 21 a special non-working day in the municipality of San Fabian, Pangasinan province to commemorate the town’s founding anniversary.
March 31 will be a special non-working day in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental province (Proclamation No. 1228) and Panabo City, Davao del Norte province (Proclamation No. 1229).
Sipalay City and Panabo City are both celebrating their 15th founding anniversary. PND (jm) |
