 Following his successful participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) ASEAN 2017  on May 11, 2017‎ at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte takes time to meet Cebu City-based artist Francis Sollano, the lone artist featured during the two-day gathering of business and political leaders across the globe. During their meeting, the President expresses his appreciation for Sollano’s works of art which are displayed during the event.  President Rody Duterte on May 11, 2017 attends the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the (Association of South East Asian Nations) ASEAN 2017 at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The President is joined by his fellow ASEAN leaders including Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. In his speech during the plenary session, President Duterte, the chair of the ASEAN this year, points out the different goals that the regional organization aims to accomplish for the next 50 years, which include the promotion of ‘Inclusive, Innovation-led Growth’; extensive support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); the pursuance of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025; and investment on human capital and youth empowerment. The President also urges the ASEAN member countries to reaffirm their commitment to make ASEAN a illegal drug-free community. He ends his speech by encouraging ASEAN member countries to work hand in hand in bringing positive change for the region and the world. PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO
