President Rody Duterte attended the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines (AFAD) Defense and Shooting Arm Show at the SMX Convention in Lanang, Davao City on May 19, 2017.Joining the President in the exhibit are Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Eastern Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero, AFAD President Jethro Dionisio, AFAD Vice President Benjamin Rodriguez and AFAD Defense and Shooting Arm Show Committee Head Joy Gutierrez-Jose.

In his speech, the President stated that while he would like to promote ease of doing business among members of AFAD, he also reminded the association to make sure that the arms and ammos don’t fall at the hands of the government’s enemy.

After delivering his speech, the President then took a tour of the exhibit which aims to promote security, self-defense, responsible gun ownership and the sport of shooting. PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO

President Rody Duterte attends the opening of the 33rd National Convention of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City. The event took place on May 19, 2017.
Joining the President in the event were his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go, PCGA National Director Vice Admiral Valentin Prieto Jr., and PCGA Southeastern Mindanao District Director Commodore Beethoven Sur.
In his speech, the President restated his stance on attaining peace in the country including a peaceful resolution in the sea dispute.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte leads the groundbreaking rite and launching of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police (AFP-PNP) housing design and modalities of the Madayaw Residences, Kadayawan Homes in Bangkal, Davao City. The event took place on May 19, 2017.

Assisting the President during the burial of the time capsule were Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., National Housing Authority General Manager Marcelino Escalada Jr., PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, and Eastern Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero.
Also joining the President during the ceremony were Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go and San Miguel Corporation President and CEO Ramon Ang.
Prior to delivering his keynote message, the President was given a tour around the site and was shown the architect’s perspective of the housing units intended for law enforcers.
President Duterte, in his speech, reiterated his campaign against illegal drugs and corruption.
He also took a swipe at oligarchs whom he accused of getting rich at the expense of unpaid taxes that could have been used to provide more services to the Filipinos. PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO

President Rodgrigo Roa Duterte led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Biyaya ng Pagbabago Housing Project at Barangay Los Amigos, Tugbok District in Davao City on May 19, 2017.

The housing project, which is born out of the collaboration between the private and public sector, is aimed at providing housing units to around 8,000 families.
Prior to the start of the program, the President took time to chat with attendees while waiting for the other guests.
The President was assisted by Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., National Housing Authority General Manager Marcelino Escalada Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in burying the time capsule.
Also joining the President in the ceremony are Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go, Pilipinong May Puso Foundation Chairperson Rowena Velasco, San Miguel Corporation President and CEO Ramon Ang, and Representatives Albert Ungab, Lord Allan Velasco and Jose Enrique Garcia. 
In his speech, announced that he will reserve housing units for rebel returnees and victims of fire incidents.He then urged the awardees not to sell the housing units while he also ordered them to keep the community peaceful.
The President then went on to urge the New People’s Army to sign a bilateral ceasefire agreement with the government so that the peace negotiations between the Communist Party of the Philippines and Government of the Philippines would continue make strides. 
He also assured that the people will get the best out of their taxes as his anti-corruption effort remains steadfast. On the problem of illegal drugs, he also vowed to address the issue as he echoed that illegal drugs has been taking a huge toll on the Filipinos.
President then gave a stern warning to terrorist groups saying that he will strike hard on them in a bid to keep the civilians safe from any terror attacks. PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO
