ASEC. BANAAG: Jules, good morning; and sa ating mga kababayang nanunuod at nakikinig, magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat.
JULES: Ma’am, first and foremost, anniversary po ng show, so maraming salamat sa tulong na binibigay ninyo sa ating programa.
ASEC. BANAAG: Happy anniversary. Every time that I watch you, I’m so happy.
JULES: Yea, Ma’am. Thank you so much, Ma’am. Ma’am RealNumbersPh, ano po ba iyong pinaka-esensiya nitong kampanyang ito?
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes. RealNumbersPh was conceptualized dahil doon sa mga iba-ibang numero na lumalabas dati tungkol sa anti-illegal drugs campaign ng ating pamahalaan. So, it’s actually our support sa PDEA, sa Philippine National Police, sa NBI and sa Bureau of Customs doon sa mga nako-confiscate na droga and doon sa operation na anti-illegal drugs operations. So we wanted to give numbers sa mga kababayan natin, sa mga journalists, sa mga researchers at of course sa international community para may mapagkuhanan sila sa gobyerno ng numbers that can be verified, numbers that of course, they can look into kung kakailanganin nila. So, this is RealNumbersPh.
JULES: Asec, saan po natin kinukuha iyong mga numero na nako-consolidate po ng PCOO?
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes. Actually ang consolidation niyan is with the PDEA. And we get it from the PNP, we get it from the NBI, we get it from the Bureau of Customs and the PDEA. So lahat po iyan, halimbawa po—we have a page for RealNumbersPh and monthly nagre-release po tayo ng data – ilan na ba ang operations between itong one month period na ito, sa anti-illegal drugs; ilang shabu ang na-confiscate doon sa period na ito at mula noong July 2016. So these are the data and of course doon sa mga ilan na ba ang naalis na mga nasasangkot sa illegal drugs on the part ng pamahalaan. These are the things that we release.
And of course, it’s still a work in progress and of course doon sa prosecution, ilan na ba ang na-prosecute doon sa mga naaresto doon sa anti-illegal drugs campaign.
JULES: Like ngayon, Asec, pinapakita po ngayon sa screens natin iyong mga infographic, kasi maganda na hindi lang siya numbers, mas madali siyang maunawaan kasi may mga pictures din na pinapakita.
So, Ma’am kumusta po iyong reception ng mga kababayan natin, particularly iyong mga information ng mga communicators po natin sa gobyerno? Kasi po at least meron na tayong standards ngayon na sinusundan.
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes. Well Jules sa amin, kasi medyo biased. Kaya nga sabi namin, mas maganda siguro na sila ang mag-comment kung kulang pa ba iyong impormasyon na kailangan nila from sa atin. And actually we wanted to come up with activities para ma-raise iyong awareness. Kasi looking at it inside baka akala natin, akala natin sa pamahalaan, okay na iyong ginagawa natin, pero hindi pa nila naiintindihan kung ano ba itong… ano ba itong mga numero na ito. Ano ng impact nito sa ating pamahalaan. And of course this is also for policy-makers, sa mga Congressmen, mga senador para makita nila and puwedeng pagbasehan iyan ng polisiya ng ating pamahalaan.
JULES: Tama, kasi kailangan iyong mga data na iyan bago sila mag-set ng mga policy papers, bago sila magsulat about this. Pero, Ma’am, speaking of activities, para po mas maunawaan ng mga kababayan natin, meron po kayong ilulunsad na Real Numbers 2018 photo contest. So papano po ba makakasali ang mga kababayan natin dito?
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes, there is a photo contest. May na-publish po tayo and it’s on our website sa PCOO website, sa lahat ng state media website and that of PDEA, website of PDEA; the PNP and the Bureau of Customs. We have a RealNumbersPh Photo Contest, ito po para ma-raise natin iyong awareness sa ating mga kababayan na sumali and ang objective po natin dito ay is to capture visually the positive result of the nation’s campaign toward a drugs free Philippines.
When we first launched this one, when we placed this, advertised this one, may mga nagpadala ng mga card ng mga anak, akala nila numero ng grades ng mga anak. So that simply means, ah, so may mga kababayan din natin—baka may marami tayong mga kababayan na hindi alam kung ano ba ang RealNumbersPh. Yes. So we added iyong objective and of course iyong tema. Ang tema natin ay “Tunay na numero, tunay na tagumpay, tunay na pagbabago.” Ito iyong gusto nating i-imbibe sa ating mga kababayan na, okay these are not just numbers, kung hindi pagbabago, kasi nakikita natin, nararamdaman natin iyong resulta ng mga sakripisyo ng mga pagtatrabaho ng ating mga law enforces. And of course may mga prizes iyan, may dalawang category iyan – DSLR category at mobile category.
So again, iyong objective po natin is to capture visually the positive result of the nation’s campaign toward a drug free Philippines. And of course prize for the DSLR is 25,000 pesos. And second prize is 16,000 pesos and the third prize is 10,000 pesos. May 5 consolation prizes tayo sa DSLR category na 2,000 each.
Doon naman sa mobile category ang first prize is 15,000, ang second prize is 10,000 and ang third prize is 5,000 pesos. And limang consolation prizes ng 1,000 pesos each. Itong photo contest na ito ay ia-announce natin doon sa Real Number Ph year 2 program sa May 29.
JULES: At ang maganda dito, Asec, kasi citizens participation iyong na-emphasize ninyo na talagang partner for change lahat ng mga kababayan natin na magtutulungan tayo para makakalap ng tamang impormasyon. Ma’am, papano nila isa-submit itong mga entries nila?
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes, they can submit the entries on—well today ang cutoff natin para may time din ang mga. Today ang cutoff para may time din iyong mga—yes, today is the cut off.
JULES: Can they just submit it via the Facebook page?
ASEC. BANAAG: Yes. Via the Facebook page of Real Numbers Ph and the deadline of submission is today. So that may time din itong mga hurado, iyong mga judges natin to look into at makita nila kung ano iyong photos na magaganda.
JULES: Sige, Ma’am, ipapa-share natin ito kahit sa Facebook page din ng PTV, kasi deadline na pala ito. Ang daming mga prizes na puwedeng ibigay.
