Agrarian reform is a labor of love – PBBM

For President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., agrarian reform is not simply a program or project of the administration, but “a labor of love” rooted in his father, former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., and former Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado F. Estrella Sr.

“Kaya’t talagang masasabi naming dalawa, na labor of love talaga namin ni Secretary Conrad ang repormang agrayo dahil ito’y nagsimula sa administrasyon ng aking ama kung saan ang lolo naman ni Secretary Conrad naman ang pinuno ng DAR,” President Marcos said in referring to the grandson and namesake of the former agrarian reform chief.

President Marcos made these remarks during the distribution of Certificates of Condonation and Land Ownership Awards to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) at the DAR Central Office in Quezon City.

The President was referring to Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III, who chose to celebrate his 64th birthday during the event instead of taking a birthday leave to spend time with his family.

“At lalo pang napatunayan ni Sec. Conrad ang pagmamahal niya sa mga magsasaka dahil sa halip na mag-birthday leave, nandito po siya para makasama tayong lahat,” President Marcos told over a thousand ARBs.

President Marcos said the government is working hard to complete agrarian reform by 2028. He cited DAR records showing that the government has already distributed 136,116 land titles nationwide.

The government aims to distribute 101,666 land titles before the end of the year. PND
