The Department and Trade and Industry (DTI) renewed its commitment on Tuesday to continue creating a competitive business environment to attract foreign investments and encourage local businesses to invest more in the country.
“The DTI is committed to continue to create a competitive business environment to attract foreign investment and encourage our local businesses to invest more in our country,” Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual said during the 2024 Post State of the Nation Address (SONA) Discussions at the Hilton Hotel in Pasay City.
“We’re also committed to generate high quality and better paying jobs for our people as we expand our industries and economy,” he added.
“We want our economy to be driven by science, technology and innovation. That’s why we support start-ups because they will be the source of innovation for our country. We will play our important role in ensuring consumer protection while addressing food logistics and the supply chain.”
Aligned with the market thrust of Bagong Pilipinas, DTI’s vision is encapsulated in the new slogan: “Angat Negosyo, Asenso Trabaho, Alagang Consumer para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
The DTI aims to enhance the role of MSMEs by providing them comprehensive support on mentoring, technology, and market access using modern approaches like e-commerce platforms.
“So, we’re here to work with our colleagues of the other departments of the government in order to achieve the goals ang objectives of Bagong Pilipinas para sa pag-unlad ng bagong Pilipino,” Pascual said. PND
