Department of Budget Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman on Monday emphasized the need for ordinances to implement the Salary Standardization Law VI in local government.

Following the signing of the Local Budget Circular, Pangandaman said the schedule of the local government’s implementation will be different from the retroactive adjustment of national government agencies.

Pangandaman clarified the local governments will start their adjustment on Aug. 2, the day when the Executive Order was issued.

“When we signed the guidelines today for the national government agencies, we also signed the local budget circular. Sila po, it cannot be done retroactive; they will start po the adjustment kung kailan lumabas iyong executive order – that was August 2 – and they can do it through an ordinance,” Pangandaman said in an episode of Malacañang Insider.

“Kailangan po nilang magpasa ng kani-kanilang mga ordinansa,” she pointed-out. | PND
