Maharlika Highway rehab a gov’t priority — PBBM

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured the rehabilitation of the Maharlika Highway is among the priorities of his administration.

“Well, it’s part, it’s always part of the continuing plan for the rehabilitation because even up to now, hindi talaga pa tayo nakapag-fully recover (from Typhoon Yolanda),” President Marcos said during a media interview in Tacloban City on Monday.

“All those rehabilitations, you know, we only really started two years ago. Because nothing was done in the previous administration, nothing was done in the administration before that,” he said.

The reconstruction has been ongoing for 12 years, but this is the only time the government is putting serious attention to those projects, the President said.

But the plan is there, according to Marcos, and there will be available funding whenever the schedule requires it.

“So yes, that’s what we are doing,” the President said.

Marcos was in Tacloban City to lead the distribution of 5,000 land titles to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Eastern Visayas, fulfilling his promise of land titles to landless farmers. *PND*
