Government work and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Region IV-A (CALABARZON) are suspended on Tuesday.

The suspension was announced by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin through Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 63, which was signed on Monday.

“In view of the continuous rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Storm “Enteng” and to ensure the safety of the general public, work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and Region IV-A (CALABARZON) are hereby suspended on 03 September 2024,” the Memorandum states.

“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services,” it added.

Meanwhile, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads. PND
