President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with the First Family and the Office of the President, officially welcome the Filipino Christmas season in Malacañang with its traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony, to be held at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañang on 25 November 2023.

Entries of the Isang Bituin, Isang Mithiin nationwide parol-making contest – created by students from state colleges and universities (SUCs) adorned this year’s Christmas Tree with the theme, “Traditions & Innovations”. This project of the Office of the President thru the Social Secretary’s Office aims to celebrate the Filipino creativity, craftsmanship, and ingenuity, which must reflect on each parol—as the national symbol of Filipino Christmas and as a vital part of our cultural identity.

Winners of the competition will be announced during this event with prizes courtesy of the Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corporation (PAGCOR) and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). SUCs will receive a photo and video editing package which includes the following: a camera, gimbal, laptop, and editing software. Student winners will receive cash prizes of: PHP 250,000.00 for third prize, PHP 500,000.00 for second prize; and PHP 1,000,000.00 for the first prize. The student prizes will also include a laptop showcase and a mobile phone showcase. A special prize awaits the online poll winner who will receive PHP 100,000.00.
