The government intends to carry out more projects in Tawi-Tawi to preserve peace in the locality and the Mindanao region, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Thursday.
Among the projects being implemented are the social development programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), ensuring healthcare and education among poor households
The President also mentioned the Quick Response Fund at KALAHI- CIDSS Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay, aimed at providing assistance and jobs to individuals affected by calamities
In addition, the Bangsamoro Umpungan sa Nutrisyon or BangUn is being carried out to address malnutrition among children and pregnant women.
The President said his visit to Tawi-Tawi is part of his efforts to personally oversee the distribution of government assistance to communities in need, as well as to assess the condition of the people at the local level.
During the event, President Marcos led the distribution of PhP10,000 each to select 10 beneficiaries from Tawi-Tawi and PhP10 million each to the Provincial Governments of Tawi-Tawi and Basilan.
The DSWD also distributed PhP10,000 each to 10,000 beneficiaries composed of farmers, fisherfolk and their families. | PND
