No Filipino affected by Texas floods – Palace

No Filipino has been affected by the devastating floods in central Texas, particularly in Kerr County, a Malacañang official said on Wednesday.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said, based on recent information provided by the Philippine Consulate General in Houston, Texas, no Filipino national has been reported as casualties or among those missing.

Castro said the Philippine Consulate continues to coordinate with the Filipino community in Texas to monitor their situation closely.

Based on recent reports, more than 160 individuals remain missing in Kerr County alone as a result of the massive flooding in Texas. Meanwhile, more than 110 people have been confirmed dead across six counties in the state.

Castro assured that the government is ready to help all Filipino nationals in the affected areas, urging them to contact the Philippine Consulate immediately if they need assistance.

Malacañang also offered prayers for those affected by the disaster in Texas and expressed solidarity and sympathies with the families of the victims. | PND
