MANILA — The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), processed passport applications of PCOO employees and their dependents through the Passport on Wheels (PoW) Program.
Held at the PCOO Main Office at Times Plaza Building at U.N Ave., Ermita, Manila on 07-08 February 2022, the PoW accommodated 329 PCOO employees and their dependents for the processing of new and renewal of passports.
More applicants were serviced than initially as payments were done online, shortening the overall processing time.
Launched in 2018 by the DFA and PCOO attached agency APO Production Unit the PoW services the public by accommodating applicants via mobile stations that visit schools, municipalities, and government offices to assist them in acquiring their passports.
As we transition to the new normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PCOO commends the Department of Foreign Affairs’ efforts in bringing consular services closer to the citizens. This initiative has not only made the passport application process more convenient and faster, but it has also reduced the risk of exposure and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
