PBBM acknowledges journalists’ contribution to nation-building

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on journalists to help Filipinos become better equipped with accurate information as they journey with the government towards progress.

In his speech during the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officers of several media groups on Tuesday at Malacañan Palace, President Marcos acknowledged the significant contributions of journalists to nation-building.

“As you fulfill your mandate, I urge you to remain at the forefront of our efforts in helping our people distinguish truth from misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation,” President Marcos told the journalists.

President Marcos led the oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC), Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Malacañang Press Corps (MPC), Malacañang Cameramen Association (MCA), and Presidential Photojournalists Association (PPA).

Before concluding his speech, President Marcos assured the journalists of the government’s unwavering commitment to making the Philippines a safe haven for journalists and media practitioners.

The President said several cases have already been filed, and law enforcers continue to work hard to bring perpetrators to justice. PND
