
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday administered the oath of office for Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairperson Francisco Lim and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis.
The two new officials took their oath at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.
Lim succeeded SEC Chairperson Emilio Aquino who ended his seven-year term last June 6.
Lim had served as president and chief executive officer of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) from 2004 to 2010.
He is also a senior partner at the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW), one of the country’s top law firms.
Prior to being appointed as CHED Chairperson, Agrupis was a commissioner in charge of overseeing 22 universities and colleges across Northern Luzon, Central and Eastern Visayas, Mindanao, CARAGA, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Before she assumed as CHED Commissioner in 2024, she served as president of the Mariano Marcos State University in Ilocos Norte.
Agrupis replaced CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera III. | PND
