President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said providing all local government units (LGUs) with their own patient transport vehicles (PTVs) is part of his administration’s program to ensure that all Filipinos have access to medical services.
“We are very happy now to be able to do this dahil dito sa administrasyong ito, karapatan ng bawat nating kababayan na Pilipino na magkaroon ng ganitong klaseng serbisyo,” President Marcos said as he led the turnover of the latest batch of 387 PTVs at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
“Ito ay isang bahagi lamang sa pagpapatibay natin ng ating healthcare system,” President Marcos added.
Under the Marcos administration, or from July 2022 to June 2025 so far, 680 PTVs have been distributed to LGUs nationwide. An additional 387 PTVs were distributed to LGUs in Luzon.
“Kaya ipagpapatuloy namin ang pagpapatibay hindi lamang sa paramihan nitong transport vehicle, kung hindi pati na ang buong healthcare system natin,” the President said.
The PTV turnover project is part of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP) aimed at addressing the situation where Filipinos do not have access to medical services due to lack of ambulances. | PND
