PBBM appoints former SC Justice Tinga as DBP acting chair

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed former Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Dante Osorio Tinga as acting chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

Tinga’s appointment to the DBP was dated December 9, 2022 and was coursed through the Department of Finance, which has supervisory functions over the government-owned bank.

Tinga took his oath of office in Malacañang on Thursday before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, himself a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Tinga served as SC associate justice from 2003 to 2009. He was also a former member of the House of Representatives, representing the Taguig-Pateros District.

Tinga also served as dean of the University of the East College of Law from 1989 to 1993 and again from 2017 to 2018.

The DBP is the premier government financial institution dedicated to supporting the national government’s key development programs. #
