President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remains focused on his work, ensuring that every foreign trip brings positive outcomes for the country, including strengthened ties with world leaders and opportunities that benefit the Filipino people.
In a Palace press briefing on Tuesday, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro said President Marcos exemplifies results-driven leadership, whether addressing national concerns at home or representing the country on the global stage.
“Ang Pangulo, focused sa trabaho. Kapag po siya man ay umaalis ng bansa, may dalang magandang balita. May magandang naging relasyon sa iba’t ibang mga leaders,” the Palace Press Officer Castro said.
Castro cited several key diplomatic achievements under the President’s term, including high-level cooperation with Indonesia that contributed to ongoing efforts to save the life of overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso; the repatriation of former legislator Arnulfo Teves from Timor-Leste; and the swift return of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.
The PCO Undersecretary also highlighted the President’s push to strengthen tourism ties during his recent official visit to Japan.
“Iyan po ang trabaho na dapat ipagmalaki kung talagang nagtrabaho,” she added.
The Palace official also reminded public servants that occupying a government position carries the duty of national representation and accountability.
“So kapag nagtrabaho, dala ang posisyon. Dala ang bandera ng Pilipinas. May official functions,” she said.
Citing Republic Act No. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Castro reiterated that a public office is a public trust, emphasizing that public servants are expected to deliver and report concrete outcomes from their engagements.
“So dapat ipaaalam, ano ang magandang resulta sa pagtratrabaho. Kung walang maireport, baka walang natrabaho,” Castro said. | PND
