PBBM: Gov’t continuously strengthening Career Executive Service

The government is relentlessly strengthening its Career Executive Service (CES) occupancy rate, according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“We continue to strengthen the CES,” President Marcos said in his speech during the awarding of Presidential Gawad CES and oath-taking of newly appointed CES Officers (CESOs) in Malacañang on Monday.

The President noted the CES occupancy rate has increased from “44 percent to 50 percent from the previous years.”

The increased CES occupancy rate is part of the government’s target under the Philippine Development Plan 2023 to 2028.

The Chief Executive led the conferment of the Presidential Gawad CES to Regional Director Josefina Abilay; Assistant Secretary Teresa Camba; Schools Division Superintendent Miguel Aposin; and OIC Deputy Executive Director Eduardo Quilang.

The President also administered the oath of office of the new CESOs.

President Marcos said the CES holds a profound significance under his administration. It was established through Presidential Decree No. 1 during the presidency of his father and namesake Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

The CES stands as a cornerstone of the country’s public administration. It is designed to cultivate a cadre of leaders who will foster a highly effective, efficient, and professional bureaucracy in the Philippines.

“Your dedication to public service, to finding solutions to problems that beset our people, especially those in isolated areas, and to harnessing technologies available to us fortifies my faith, once more, in the Career Executive Service,” the President told the four Presidential Gawad CES.

“You have elevated the bureaucracy and truly transformed [the] lives of those that you have served. Congratulations on being the worthy recipients of the Presidential Gawad CES,” the Chief Executive added.

Before concluding his speech, President Marcos said he hopes the achievements of the Presidential Gawad CES will serve as an inspiration to all CESOs of the country. He also reminded them of their “Herculean tasks of upholding the highest ethical standards” in their career. PND
