PBBM honors educators on National Teachers’ Day; cites their huge role in building country’s better future

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. honored the country’s educators Monday, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions in honing the Filipino youth to become agents of change, particularly as the nation recovers from the pandemic.

“Let this day be a culmination of a month-long celebration in which we acknowledge the many sacrifices that our teachers make to mold our students and prepare them so they can achieve their dream in life,” Marcos said in a message on the celebration of National Teachers’ Day 2022.

“This is also a good opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for their invaluable service to the nation as we safely reopen our schools and bring forth a new era of learning amidst the post-pandemic world.”

Education is the bedrock of every prosperous society, the President stressed, noting those who dedicate their lives to teaching are essential drivers of the nation.

He expressed optimism that with the help of the nation’s teachers, the Philippines will grow stronger, with every Filipino becoming more capable of building a better future for all.

“May this celebration not only inspire present teachers as they continue their efforts in shaping the lives of our young learners, but also motivate those whose dream is to be such agents of genuine unity and empowerment.”

According to the Department of Education (DepEd), the celebration of 2022 National Teachers’ Month (NTM) formally started on Sept. 5 and culminated on Oct. 5, with the National Teachers’ Day (NTD) and World Teachers’ Day (WTD) celebration.

The month-long celebration aims to honor the greatness and dedication of teachers in helping Filipino youth to achieve their dreams. (PND)
