President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued proclamations on September 11, declaring special non-working days in various parts of the country.
The President declared September 20 and 21, 2024, as special non-working days in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, and San Mateo, Rizal, respectively.
President Marcos issued Proclamation No. 680, declaring September 20, 2024, a special non-working day in Dingras, in honor of Josefa Llanes-Escoda, a World War II heroine and the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
Dingras commemorates the birth of Llanes-Escoda, who was born on *September 20, 1898*.
The President’s issuance, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, said it is fitting and proper that the people of Dingras municipality “be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”
The Chief Executive also issued Proclamation No. 681, declaring *September 21, 2024*, a special non-working day in San Mateo, Rizal.
The President’s proclamation stated that as San Mateo marks its 452nd Founding Anniversary on *September 21, 2024*, its people must be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.
A similar issuance was made by the President for Mountain Province. Under Proclamation No. 682, *October 4, 2024*, is a special non-working day to mark the celebration of the Provincial Indigenous People’s Day.
It will also be a special non-working day on *October 7, 2024*, in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, and on *October 23, 2024*, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, through the issuance of Proclamation Nos. 683 and 684, respectively.
Zamboanga del Sur marks the celebration of the 33rd Araw ng Guipos, while Narvacan celebrates the Aldaw Ti Wayawaya-lli A Narvacan.
President Marcos made a similar issuance for Pili, Camarines Sur, as it marks the celebration of the Cimarrones Festival on *October 24, 2024*.
The President issued Proclamation No. 685 to give the people of Pili the opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.
The President also declared *October 25, 2024*, as a special non-working day in Lemery, Batangas, through Proclamation No. 686, as the town will mark its founding anniversary. PND
