President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. earned the praises of local government executives in Negros Oriental after fulfilling his promise to return to the province and continue helping its people.
The Chief Executive was in Negros Oriental a month ago to distribute land titles to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs). Before leaving the province, the President vowed to revisit the locality.
In his speech during the distribution of financial assistance in Dumaguete City on Thursday, Negros Oriental Gov. Manuel Sagarbarria said President Marcos truly loves the residents of Negros Oriental.
“In a span of one month, nibalik na pud siya kay gusto siya mutabang natu tanan diri sa Negros Oriental. Ingon ana gud ta ka palangga ni Presidente Bongbong Marcos,” Governor Sagarbarria told President Marcos in his dialect.
Last month, President Marcos distributed 1,800 land titles to ARBs in the province, according to Sagarbarria. He said the President extended other forms of assistance.
Negros Oriental Second District Rep. Manuel “Chiquiting” Sagarbarria echoed the sentiment of the governor. He said President Marcos’ presence on Thursday is a manifestation of his love for Negros Oriental.
“This visit is more than just a courtesy. It is a manifestation of the President’s commitment to our well-being and progress,” the lawmaker said as he thanked President Marcos for his genuine service and leadership.
Negros Oriental First District Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong said they are deeply grateful for the presence of President Marcos in Dumaguete City. They always felt the support of the national government especially during trying times brought about by natural disasters, she added.
For his part, Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded President Marcos for his sincere efforts to ensure that underprivileged Filipinos will be reached by government aid.
The least the residents can do, Remollo said, is to appreciate the government’s help and show their love and appreciation to the Marcos administration. | PND
