PBBM orders strict monitoring of school supplies prices

To help ease the burden on families ahead of the June 16 school reopening, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to closely monitor school supply prices and ensure they remain affordable.

Castro said DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque led the store inspection of major commercial centers, including Divisoria in Manila, to check that the prices of school supplies remain reasonable.

The DTI has recently issued its 2025 “Gabay sa Pamimili ng School Supplies” or price guide on school supplies, providing more affordable options for parents and students based on their budget and needs.

Covering 12 essential product categories, the DTI price guide highlights price reductions for various school supplies.

Castro urged consumers to visit the DTI website and official social media pages to know more about the price guide. | PND
