In his speech during the distribution of financial assistance to typhoon-affected families in Nueva Vizcaya, President Marcos noted the significant damage on the road brought by the onslaught of Super Typhoon Pepito.

The President tasked DPWH Secretary Manny Bonoan to personally assess the situation.

“Nakita na po namin ‘yung mga ibang damage doon sa mga flood control at siya po ang gumagawa ngayon ng plano para paayos natin para patibayin pa natin ng – kung mayroon man may sumunod pa na bagyo ay hindi na masisira ulit,” President Marcos said.

A total of 77 road sections and 32 bridges were affected in Nueva Vizcaya due to the recent typhoons.

Upon his arrival in Nueva Vizcaya, President Marcos inspected the Bambang Bypass Road. He was briefed by Governor Jose Gambito and DPWH OIC-Regional Director Engr. Mathias Malenab on the matter.

During his visit, the President delivered over PhP52 million in financial assistance and over 1,000 boxes of family food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to families affected by typhoons Nika, Ofel, and Pepito.

Of the amount, PhP50 million came from the Office of the President, while PhP2.5 million was from DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
