Highlighting the government’s intensified digitalization drive, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced on Friday that availing of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp.’s (PhilHealth) services is now easier for the public.
Digitalization is among the administration’s key initiatives to deliver better services for all Filipinos.
“Ngayon, talagang pinupursige namin na mag-digitalize ang PhilHealth para hindi na kinakamay ang mga registration, ang mga konsultasyon,” President Marcos said in his speech during the launching of PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program Para sa Malayo sa Sakit (YAKAP) in Quezon City.
“Ngayon ay nagagawa na online. ‘Yung mga registration puwede ng online,” the President stressed.
With PhilHealth’s ongoing digital services, President Marcos said members can now register online, access their medical records electronically, and receive digital prescriptions.
President Marcos said that once prescriptions are issued, patients no longer need to return to the hospital or clinic to obtain their medications but can instead present a QR code at any PhilHealth-accredited pharmacy to claim their medications conveniently.
“Pagka nabigyan kayo ng prescription ay hindi niyo kailangan kunin doon din sa ospital kung saan mo nakuha ‘yung prescription. Kung saan ang malapit na PhilHealth-accredited na pharmacy, doon na lang kayo kukuha,” President Marcos said.
“Bibigyan kayo ng QR code at ‘yung QR code na ‘yun basta ipakita ninyo doon sa lugar na ‘yun, makukuha niyo na ‘yung gamot,” added the President.
President Marcos encouraged the public to download the eGOV PH Super App, a one-stop platform that provides access to government services, anytime and anywhere.
The President said these innovations built upon the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, during which gaps in the healthcare system were observed.
President Marcos emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the availability of PhilHealth’s primary care services under YAKAP and urged government agencies to utilize their platforms to inform the public so many would benefit. | PND
