The government has been carrying out several major infrastructure projects in Aurora province, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Friday.
President Marcos enumerated the construction of road, flood control, and airport projects in the province.
“Kabilang sa mga proyektong ito ay ang pagpapa-semento ng daan na nag-uugnay sa mga taniman ng niyog mula sa bayan ng Dinalungan patungo sa iba’t ibang pamilihan sa lalawigan ng Aurora,” President Marcos said during the distribution of presidential assistance to Aurora farmers and fisherfolk in Baler.
“Halos kalahati na rin ang natapos natin sa pagpapagawa ng Dingalan-Baler Road Project na [nagkakahalaga] ng mahigit apat na bilyong piso,” he pointed out.
The government is also crafting the Baler Airport Development Project for the facility to accommodate bigger aircraft for increased passenger handling capacity.
The President reported that last June, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) successfully facilitated the land purchase with an August target for fund release so the construction could commence soon.
“Matapos nito, ang pagpapagawa naman ng Passenger Terminal Building ang ating isusunod. Sa mamamayan ng Aurora, sana po ay maramdaman naman ninyo ang aming pagkalinga [at] pagmamahal sa inyo,” President Marcos said.
In terms of flood control initiatives, the President reported the completion of the Aguang River Flood Control Structure Project in Baler to address perennial flooding problem following the overflow of the Aguang River.
The government is also working to resolve the abandoned project of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) amounting to almost PhP796 million, he said.
APECO President at CEO Gil Taway IV has acted on the issue and decided to halt and rebid the project so that it could be completed soon.
“Sadyang napakalaking kasayangan [po ang] nangyari po rito na sana ay ngayon ay pinapakinabangan na ng mamamayan ng Aurora,” the President said. |PND
