PBBM seeks more synergy between nat’l gov’t, LGUs for swift aid distribution in Occidental Mindoro

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered closer coordination between the national government and the Local Government Units (LGUs) for the swift distribution of all forms of assistance to the residents affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Occidental Mindoro.

In a situation briefing, President Marcos said that the LGUs should inform the national government about the needs of their constituents as they know the situation on the ground while the latter will be responsible in providing all the assistance needed.

The President emphasized that the administration wants to ensure that aids are immediately provided to El Niño-hit areas not only in the urban places but also in far-flung areas.

“Magandang coordination natin lahat.

The chief executive stood firm that the LGUs and the national government should work hand in hand to provide assistance to needy residents.

President Marcos visited Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday where he provided financial assistance and other services to farmers and fisherfolk affected by the El Niño phenomenon in the country.

The President was also briefed by the local government officials about the situation in the province.

Before concluding the briefing, the chief executive lauded the coordination between the national government and the LGUs as they quickly provided all the necessary help assistance to the affected farmers and fishermen. |PND
