President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said “there has been very much a rebirth in the country” as he led the Marcos Day Celebration in Ilocos Norte on Sunday.
In a speech in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Marcos said this year’s celebration of the late President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos’ birthday is a “very meaningful celebration.”
The President said the values of honor, duty, and compassion are the elements that “sometimes we have found lacking in the past few years.”
“And this is our opportunity to return it, not only to government but to every part of our society,” he said.
Marcos noted in his speech that wasting an opportunity would be neglecting the duty to Filipinos.
“So let this be once again a kind of beginning. A beginning that, in fact, returns to the old days and the old ways. Not the old ways of doing things but the old ways of service, of honor, of dignity, of love, of compassion, of patriotism,” he said.
The President likewise underscored that the values he learned from his father would guide his administration.
“These are the things we learned from Ferdinand Edralin Marcos. These are the things we keep in our heart. And these are the things that will guide this administration,” he said. | PND
