President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on senior officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to stand with their troops, uphold the Constitution, and defend the Filipino people.
President Marcos made the call during the oath-taking of 36 newly-promoted generals and flag officers at the Malacañan Palace on Wednesday.
In his speech, the President acknowledged AFP’s crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and responding to rescue and aid victims of calamities.
He encouraged AFP officials to continue empowering soldiers to better serve communities and train them to act with both skill and empathy, ensuring their actions embody the highest ideals of public service.
The Chief Executive reminded military officers of the significance of the stars on their shoulders, symbolizing the weight of their responsibilities.
“Every decision we make now, every action that we take, will help shape the course of our Republic. As our senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, I enjoin you to lead with honor, serve with integrity, and inspire others with your example. Stand with your troops, stand for the Constitution, and above all, stand for the Filipino people,” he said.
The President assured the AFP of his steadfast support in strengthening the institution and in upholding the rule of law to build a Bagong Pilipinas – a nation that is stronger, more secure, and more equitable for all.
| PND
