PBBM to FFCCCII: Champion SMEs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday called on newly elected officers of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) to champion small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as the country advances towards achieving inclusive growth.

“Your leadership should not only focus on large enterprises. It is just as crucial that you empower small and medium-sized businesses. By uplifting them, you are also uplifting the entire economy and the entire nation,” said President Marcos, who led the oath-taking ceremony of FFCCCII officials in Binondo, Manila.

Acknowledging the FFCCCII’s long history of contributing to commerce and national development, President Marcos urged the federation to lead the country’s industries towards innovation.

“I challenge you now to lead with clarity. Steer our industries towards innovative strategies that are globally competitive, sustainable, and ready for the future,” said the President.

President Marcos reiterated his administration’s economic reform agenda to create a more responsive and investor-friendly business climate.

Reforms include the Green Lanes for Strategic Investments initiative, which expedites processing for key investments and reduces bureaucratic red tape.

Another key reform is the CREATE MORE Act, which simplifies the tax system and offers performance-based incentives to attract both foreign and local investments.

“All these initiatives send a clear and resounding message: The Philippines is open for business and partnerships that uplift lives and transform communities,” the President stressed. | PND
