The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will release the first episode of the Laging Handa Dokyu 2.0 entitled “Misyon,” featuring the 14-man Philippine delegation in the Kingdom of Bahrain on a mission to bring home 234 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Laging Handa Dokyu 2.0 provides more depth, a wider scope, and a more comprehensive take on the perspective of those affected by the pandemic, and other crises that the country is facing.
“The new season of the Laging Handa Dokyu is part of the PCOO’s relentless commitment to not only disseminate information on health protocols and precautionary measures, but also to inform the public on the most pressing issues, dispel false information, and to advocate for preparedness and vigilance,” said Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.
He also lauded the dedication of the government to continue fulfilling its mandate to provide the Filipino people the service they deserve, even during the holidays.
“Even during Christmas and New Year, the delegation sent by President Duterte flew to Bahrain. Amid the pandemic, the government continues to promote the rights of overseas Filipino workers, strengthen the Philippines-Bahrain relations, and provide assistance to OFWs in the Middle East affected by the pandemic,” Sec. Andanar said.
The short documentary will showcase the successful mission led by Special Envoy of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs (PAFA) Undersecretary Robert E.A. Borje, which was held from December 28-31, 2020. He was joined by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Arriola and PCOO Assistant Secretary JV Arcena.
The Philippine delegation attended multiple intergovernmental meetings with officials of Bahrain to reaffirm the special relationship of two countries and to promote the welfare of migrant workers. This will benefit over 50,000 OFWs living and working in Bahrain.
“Sa amin pong pakikipagkita sa Punong Ministro at Crown Prince, sinabi po niya na suportado niya ang mga programa ni Pangulong Duterte at bina-value niya ang pagkakaibigan nila at higit pa dun, bina-value daw niya ang kontribusyon ng Pilipino sa Bahrain dahil lahat ng Pilipino ay tumutulong sa pag-unlad ng bansa (when we met with the Prime Minister and Crown Prince, he said that he supports the programs of President Duterte and he values their friendship. He also values the contribution of Filipinos in Bahrain, because all Filipinos here contribute to the development of the country),” said Undersecretary Borje during the Kalinga at Malasakit program held in Bahrain.
The mission reaffirms the friendly ties between the two countries, as well as their unity in ensuring that all OFWs are well protected and free to exercise their rights.
Also, the mission was DFA’s 60th repatriation flight to safely bring back to our country the OFWs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

And we will not allow anyone to oppress you because the Filipino is no slave for anyone, anywhere],” said Usec. Arriola.
Prior to the launch of the short documentary’s second season, the PCOO will also premiere a music video entitled “Ang Totoong Puso ng Pinoy,” which communicates hope and new beginnings for every Filipino as we move towards the road to recovery.
