DAVAO CITY – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Friday, December 7, graced the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Marco Polo Davao.

President Duterte expressed his “heartfelt” congratulations to the Marco Polo Davao, saying that for 20 years, the hotel has provided luxurious accommodation to locals, businessmen, visiting delegations, and tourists, with a “unique blend” of Western comfort and Filipino hospitality.

He also labeled the establishment as an “important landmark” in the heart of Davao City’s business district.

The President also thanked the men and women behind Marco Polo Davao for their hard work and contribution in making the Davao region as one of the “major business and tourism hubs” in the country by showcasing Filipino hospitality.

President Duterte acknowledged the significance of Marco Polo Davao in contributing to the progress of the city, when the company established its first hotel in the area.

The Chief Executive even recalled his fond memories of the place where he frequently organized events, and accommodated friends and visitors, when he was still the mayor of Davao City. ###PND
