President Marcos extends sympathies to U.S. President Trump and Texas flood victims

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday conveyed his deepest sympathies and solidarity to United States President Donald Trump and the American people, particularly those affected by the tragic flooding in Texas on July 4.

“On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend our deepest sympathies to President Trump and the American people as they face the devastating floods in Texas,” President Marcos said.

In a statement, the President said, “The Philippines knows the challenges of rebuilding after disaster and grieves with the families who have lost loved ones.”

“We stand with the United States in prayer and solidarity during this difficult time,” President Marcos said.

President Marcos added that the “strength and resilience of the people of Texas, together with President Trump’s leadership, will guide them as they recover.”

US authorities have confirmed at least 120 people have died from the flooding in Central Texas, while more than 100 people remain missing in Kerr County alone, and at least one dozen others are also missing in other parts of the state. | PND
