President Marcos meet first-time local execs to deepen ties with LGUs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will “meet and greet” with several first-time government officials on Wednesday afternoon, to reach out and strengthen the partnership between the national government and the local government units (LGUs).

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that the meeting will be held in a special “Meet and Greet” event.

“Bibigyang diin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na paigtingin ang ugnayan upang masiguro na mapaabot ang kaunlaran saan mang sulok sa bansa para mas mabilis na mararating ang pangarap na Bagong Pilipinas,” Castro said.

Castro said President Marcos will also reaffirm his administration’s strong support for LGU programs, particularly in areas such as disaster preparedness, peace and order, and the digitalization of local government processes.

The President also aims to guide newly elected local officials in delivering more responsive and transparent public service, added Castro.

President Marcos’ initiative is part of the broader national agenda to build a more resilient and inclusive Bagong Pilipinas through the help of the local chief executives. | PND
